Involving users in mental health services: the government has called for service users to be involved in planning and delivering mental health services. The principle of working in partnership with service users and their relatives and carers in creating and developing mental health services is now widely accepted. Indeed, such collaborative working could be seen as one of the major hallmarks of a service that endeavours to be fully accountable to the public.
