The "special compensation" compromise on concurrent receipt (January Washington Wire) left hundreds of thousands of disabled military retirees still sacrificing portions of their retirement pay because of a 111-year-old law. Add to that list veterans exposed to Agent Orange.

Though the compromise grants compensation to retirees with a 60% or greater disability resulting from, among other things, an "instrumentality of war," apparently that doesn't cover Agent Orange exposure. VA lists 10 ailments that it considers were caused by exposure to the herbicide.
