Silent movie comedy was dominated by three figures: Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd.

Even 70 years after their heyday, Chaplin's Little Tramp and Keaton's blank-faced Everyman are iconic figures whose movies are widely seen on TV and in theatrical revivals.

Lloyd, though, is known mostly from a few familiar stills from his films _ especially the one showing the bespectacled young fellow dangling from the hands of a giant clock high on a Los Angeles skyscraper.
