Mar. 10--Despite the tumbling stock market and a sluggish economy, Omaha investment whiz Warren Buffett proclaimed 2002 a "banner year" for his company, Berkshire Hathaway Inc.
Berkshire's annual report, which came out Saturday, showed a 10 percent increase in its basic value, compared with a 22.1 percent drop in the value of the benchmark Standard & Poor's 500 index.
