Diamond in the rough; St. Paul's Elysian Fields Quarterly may be the nation's finest literary baseball magazine. Too bad hardly anybody knows it exists.(VARIETY)

Evidence of Tom Goldstein's love for the game of baseball is strewn about his small St. Paul apartment like hot dog wrappers at a ballpark.

Posters, bobbleheads, magazines, memorabilia and reference materials fill the apartment in which Goldstein publishes Elysian Fields Quarterly, arguably the nation's finest baseball literary magazine.

Unfortunately for him, Elysian Fields Quarterly is about as well known as the No. 9 hitter for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays - and about as profitable as the Montreal Expos.
