Nearly a decade and a half after the fall of the iron curtain that divided Western and Eastern Europe--physically, politically and socially--Eastern Europe is becoming an important market in its own right. With above-average gross domestic products, highly skilled workforces and low salary levels, the countries that comprise Eastern Europe are becoming crucial growth markets for many companies. And with 10 Eastern European nations representing some 75 million inhabitants, set to join the European Union next year, business in this region will only grow in upcoming years.
