The tailored clothing market was on a roll in 1994 when SFI president Arnold Brant Silverstone first brought his family's line from Canada to the U.S. market. He showed the line of suits and sport coats at The Collective, then known then as the Designers' Collective, where his first customer was Britches of Georgetowne. From that moment, he began commuting from Montreal to New York on a regular basis.

Over the years, the U.S. went from suits to business casual and back to suits. The clothing market took a licking, but SFI grew and prospered. In 1994, the company launched its ...
