EPA says it has concluded that atrazine, the second most widely used herbicide in the U.S., does not pose a health risk to humans at current exposure levels. Its effect on amphibians has yet to be determined, however, EPA says. The agency has been under a court-ordered deadline to complete the review of atrazine's effects on human health and the environment as the result of a lawsuit filed by the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC; Washington).
