The European Space Agency (ESA) recently announced that its Space Technology Advancements by Resourceful, Targeted and Innovative Groups of Experts and Researchers (StarTiger) team has captured a terahertz (THz) picture of a human hand using a "compact submillimeter-wave imager" unveiled last September that "takes pictures at two frequencies, 0.25 and 0.3 THz, to create a two-color picture...[contrasting] materials with different transmission and reflection properties."
