Picture from 13 BILLION YEARS AGO; It's like a speckled egg u but scientists insist it holds the secrets of the universe.

IT may not look earthshattering, but this mixture of colours resembling a speckled egg has got space scientists excited as never before.

In fact, it is a vision of the universe as it looked just after its 'birth' 13.7billion years ago.

The computer- generated image is of the 'afterglow' of radiation thrown out by the Big Bang, the gigantic explosion which heralded the birth of the universe.

The picture was created using measurements taken from a Nasa satellite a million miles from Earth.
