Last year, grocery stores, where approximately 46 pounds of chicken per person was purchased, sold the most chicken per person. Restaurant purchases accounted for about 33 pounds. Forty-one percent of chicken products produced by processors last year was distributed to grocery stores, 29% went to restaurants and 16% went to export markets.
