Optically active coating systems (OACS) that react to ultraviolet light by glowing have been developed by NCP Coatings Inc., Niles, Mich. To make the coatings reactive, an optically active material is added to the formulation. The OACS coating is then applied on the surface, and the final coating without the additive is applied on top.
