For some time now, Ray Hudson of Randleman has heard the call of the Appalachian Trail. He is about to heed the call of the 2,172 mile path leading from Georgia to Maine, not just "because it's there," but to raise money for Victory Junction.

As leader for Boy Scout Troop No. 532, and a hiker for the past decade, Ray knows something about trails. He has hiked parts of the Appalachian Trail, first conceived by Benton Mackaye in 1921, who dreamed of a trail along the ridge crest of mountains connecting New England to the South.
