STALLED AT 50 cents per gallon since October 1999, and with North American production of crude sulfate turpentine (CST) steadily declining, the CST market still manages to hang on. "Markets for products derived from CST remain soft, even though the production of turpentine is way down," according to one producer. "In fact," he adds, "2002 may be our record low year for CST production."
