A SCOTS-based academic is showing farm-reared fish video nasties - in a bid to toughen them up for life in the wild.

Dr Culum Brown says fish born in captivity have become institutionalised and need lessons on how to avoid danger before being left to fend for themselves.

At his fish school at the University of Edinburgh, he teaches them vital life skills by forcing them to view footage of their counterparts being eaten by predators.
