Pernambuco and Bahia invest in tourism.

According to the Bahia state tourism agency Bahiatursa, the tourism will bring in US$1.1bil income and 4.5mil people to Bahia state over 2002, a growth of 22% and 4,6%, respectively. In Pernambuco, the prediction is to register 3.311mil visitors, up 3% from 2001. The Argentineans used to lead the tourism in Bahia state with 16% of the foreign tourists registered in 2001.
