PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The local QATAR STEEL CO. (QASCO) is currently gearing-up to expand its steel manufacturing operations by some 50%. In so doing, the company is proposing to: - Build a new direct iron reduction (DRI) plant; - Install a rod mill; - Expand its existing melt shop.
In so doing, production capacity will increase from 500,000 tons per year (t/y) up to 1 million t/y. As things currently stand, a front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract is soon expected to be awarded. And, an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) package is ...
