BURLINGTON, WIS. (AP) -- Sandi Weld, of Sorrento, Fla., says that when she moved to Iron Mountain, Mich., her sheep gave her steel wool.

But don't believe her. She's a champion liar.

Weld's fib is the winner of the 72nd World Champion Liar Contest, sponsored by the Burlington Liars Club.

Three of the five honorable mentions came from Wisconsin.

Several hundred entries from 23 states, South Africa and India were submitted for this year's contest, said Mitzi Robers, the club's vice president.
