It could have been just another one of those seasons.

Coach Tom Stellman's football team had not boasted much success in recent years, and after a four-hour road trip the second week of the season, it appeared his Conner Cougars were headed for an all-too-familiar loss and possibly another in a string of sub-.500 seasons when Pulaski Southwestern took an eight-point lead with 1:30 to play.

But a Conner kickoff return for a touchdown and a two-point conversion tied the score, and Stellman's Cougars pulled the win out in overtime, ...
