Dear Editor: As far as I am concerned, Franklynn Peterson is right about only one thing in his recent vicious and ignorant personal attack on the Rev. Bruce Burnside, and that is that not all Lutherans agree with Burnside's analysis of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

While I disagree strongly with Burnside's views regarding who is politically and morally responsible for the current violence, I disagree even more vehemently with Peterson's ad hominem attack on Burnside.

Personally, I think Israel is waging a justifiable defensive ...
