Dec. 22--Long envious of other cities' lucrative auto malls, Sacramento city officials now say they are ready to build their own car sales center in North Natomas to compete with Roseville, Folsom and Elk Grove.

The site would be on vacant land just north of Interstate 80 and east of Truxel Road on what is called Fong Ranch.
