One of the best-proven herbs for fighting winter infections is Andrographis. In fact, this herb is my preferred treatment for colds, influenza and acute bacterial sinusitis. I usually combine it with Echinacea root and have found that this combination works particularly well. From an evidence-based perspective, clinical trials have consistently demonstrated the value of Andrographis for the treatment of acute winter illnesses.
