SAN JOSE, Calif. _ A team of scientists led by a Stanford University researcher has been able to determine the ancestral history of more than 1,000 people not by seeing their faces or asking their family histories, but by simply looking at their genes.
The findings, published Thursday in the journal Science, suggests that though humans are remarkably alike, a few telltale genetic mutations say more about our ancestry than our eyes, skin or surnames.
