FOR 27 years John Allen believed he had got away with murdering his wife and two children.

But last night he was beginning a life sentence - even though the bodies have never been found.

Allen, 68, a serial philanderer and fraudster, was found guilty of killing Patricia, 39, Jonathan, six, and fiveyearold Victoria.

The jury's verdict at Exeter Crown Court concluded a mystery which for almost three decades had been the talk of the Devon resort of Salcombe.
