The U.S. sent US$109.4 million in goods to Cuba from Jan.-Sept. 2002, reports The Washington Times (Nov. 25, 2002). During the same period in 2001, U.S. exports to Cuba were valued at US$2.3 million. The surge in sales reflects an opening for agricultural exports available since 2000 but used only since late last year:
