George (Sonny) Franck has a problem. The College Football Hall of Fame wants some of his Gophers memorabilia, but Franck can't find even an old chinstrap.

He lost some of it when he moved back home to Rock Island, Ill. Then his parents moved a couple of times. And there was that whole World War II thing.

It's funny how quickly things can disappear over 62 years.

"I didn't think I'd get into the Hall of Fame after so many years," said Franck, 84. "They got a rule that you have to have graduated in the last 50 years to get in. I ...
