With all due respect to the incredible Jerry Douglas, there are more than a few who believe that the late John Duffey got it exactly right for more than twenty years in introducing his longtime Seldom Scene bandmate Mike Auldridge as "King of the Dobro." Not only has Auldridge been the prime inspiration for an entire generation of Dobro (aka "resophonic guitar") players, the fact is that untold thousands of music fans inside and outside of bluegrass would not even know what a Dobro is were it not for Mike Auldridge.
