Use of logic-synthesis tools in application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design can automate parts of the design process and reduce design time. Users input an ASIC design description and constraints that describe design goals. The tool produces a design report called a net list that details general information about the design and various other types of information, depending on the tool.
