Nov. 19--LAS VEGAS--The most innovative feature on this year's crop of handheld computers may be the price tag.

Rival companies at this year's Comdex, the technology industry trade show, spent Monday touting their latest devices. A host of executives, from Microsoft Corp. chairman Bill Gates to Hewlett-Packard Co. chief executive Carly Fiorina, said people will gravitate to small, personal computers in the coming years.
