George Barrie, the Man Who Popularized Cologne, Dies at 90.

Nov. 18--George Barrie, one-time CEO of Faberge Inc. and the creator of the Brut line of men's colognes, died Saturday of pneumonia at Aventura Hospital. He was 90.
A pioneer in the use of celebrities to advertise products, Barrie was also among the first to introduce men's fragrances, including Brut, Royale and Woodhue, into the market.
