Ozonosphere damaging substances (ODSs) in the world mainly include CFCs, Halons, [CCI.sub.4], [CH.sub.3][CCI.sub.3],[CH.sub.3]Br and HCFC.

China joined the "Montreal Convention on the ODS Elimination" in June 1991 and became a signatory state. According to the requirements raised in the document, China should stop producing and using ODS before 2010. It is therefore imperative for China to develop ODS substitutes as quickly as possible.
