IRISH stand-up comedian Ed Byrne didn't have to look far for inspiration for his latest round of observational bantering.

He became the subject of his own gags. Explains Dublin-born Ed: ``I do this big take on how hard it is to be bothered to get out of bed in the morning, and how important sleep is.

``It started off as a two-liner and just grew and grew into this great tale.

``I guess part of it is to do with the fact that I have had so little sleep because I'm rushing around on tour.''
