MILK recording helps farmers decide which cows should be kept and which should be sent to the butcher's block,according to Mr G B Newe, an agricultural correspondent, recorded in 1930.

"The steady growth of recording associations proved that the results were of service to thousands of farmers," he added.

On May 23, 1930, the Antrim Milk Recording Association held its annual show of cows at Mr N M Clarke's saleyard.

The Ministry's inspector, Mr R J McGarry, passed all 17 cows put forward for inspection.
