Three male collared peccaries live in the Wildlife Trails area of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo at Burnet Park.
They are 13-year-old Gregory and Jean Luc and Daryl, both 12. All three came to the Gifford Zoo from the Buffalo Zoo in 1991. Their bodies are piglike in appearance, but they are not closely related to pigs. They are more similar to sheep or cattle, because they have divided stomachs and chew their cuds.
