A canopy of American flags flutters in the breeze as onlookers follow a parade bearing Theodore Roosevelt through the city. From her second-floor window perch, a servan stares down at the crowd of formally dressed citizens and their children, and sailors in dress whites, eager to catch a glimpse of the president. As if frozen in time, the photograph that marks this gala presidential visit took place in 1906, but the details and crisp images in the scene are as sharp as yesterday.
