My eyes roll reflexively when I hear grand pronouncements about how the Digital Age has brought us unparalleled access to information. It's true enough, but we're not just swimming in data these days. We're sinking in it.
Technologists have given us terrific ways to store our everyday data, with disk capacities doubling every year or so. They've also done well in helping us find, in simple ways, some of the relevant information we need.
