We were on the top deck as our cruise ship, Celebrity's Zenith, docked at Costa Maya, the newest Mexican cruise port on the Yucatan peninsula's Caribbean shore. Costa Maya is the official designation of some 100 miles of unspoiled beaches in the sparsely settled area stretching from Puerto Herrero, on the shores of Esprit Santo Bay, to Xcalac. But it's also becoming the popular and widely used name for the area's new cruise port, also known as Puerto Costa Maya.
