The Bali bomb blast on Oct. 12, 2002, which claimed at least 183 lives mostly foreign tourists, constituted a big blow to the country's tourism industry. The Hotel and Travel Communications (KHTP) has urged the government, the Culture and Tourism Minister in particular to immediately prepared an emergency program to restore Bali tourism to prevent total collapse of the industry in the world famous tourist resort and the country's tourism in general. The organization called on players in the tourism business to be more on guard.
