GE Silicones, through its GE Toshiba Silicones Co. Ltd. business unit in Japan, is setting up a joint venture in Shenzhen to make silicone elastomer products, primarily for customers in China.
The new company, Shenzhen GETOS Fine Silicones Co. Ltd., already has taken over production of silicone elastomer products from Shenzhen Guanghau Enterprises Development Co. Ltd., the joint venture partner. GE Toshiba Silicones owns 51 percent of the new venture, which is GE's first manufacturing unit in China's Guangdong Province.
