MANCHESTER UNITED keeper Ricardo last night re-opened his war of words with Fabien Barthez by accusing the World Cup-winning Frenchman of "proving nothing" during his time at Old Trafford.

Ricardo was angered when Barthez insisted he felt no threat from the Spaniard and claimed he had no idea why Sir Alex Ferguson signed him.

But Ricardo hit back ahead of this afternoon's visit of Southampton by claiming Barthez is "just another regular goalkeeper" - an outburst which is certain to cause further friction.
