A NORTH Wales kitesurfer was celebrating last night after winning the British Championships.

Frenchman Alex Tritten, 25, moved to Rhosneigr, Anglesey, three years ago and took up kitesurfing as it emerged as one of the most exciting new water sports.

Powered by a huge kite the surfer and board reach break-neck speeds before being lifted high above the waves to perform stunning tricks.

Alex now adds being Britain's number one to being fourth in Europe and 13th in the world.
