NELSON ARTEFACTS REACH pounds 2m AT AUCTION.(News)

A COLLECTION of rare artefacts associated with Lord Nelson, Britain's greatest naval hero, raised more than pounds 2m at auction yesterday.
One of the star lots in the sale, a blood-stained silk purse containing 21 gold coins which he was carrying when he was killed during the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, sold for pounds 270,650 including buyer's premium.
And a sword believed to have been presented to the Admiral by Sultan Selim III after his victory against the French at the Battle of the Nile in 1798 made the biggest price of the day at more than pounds ...
