The Port of Oswego Authority hopes reconstruction of three fertilizer storage domes will help jump-start growth for the state-run agency.
First built in the early 1980s, they had fallen into***such disrepair that much of the fertilizer stored in them washed away with the rain, eroding port authority profits.
"It's been a pretty tough time here the last couple of years," Tom McAuslan, executive director of the port authority, said. "The domes got so deteriorated, we couldn't even use them."
