Before U.S. Rep. J.C. Watts Jr (R), announced his retirement, Tom Cole was already quite busy in Oklahoma, working for several Republican campaigns through his successful consulting firm Cole Hargrave Snodgrass & Associates.

Now Cole has another fulltime job on his hands: candidate. Cole won the Republican nomination to replace Watts in Oklahoma's newly-drawn 4th District, after the incumbent's July announcement that he would not seek a fifth term due to what he called a desire to spend more time with his family.
