Julie Madura, the leading scorer for the Conant girls basketball team the past two seasons, made a verbal commitment Thursday to Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
The 5-foot-8 guard, who scored a career-high 31 points against Stillman Valley last winter, will join coach Lori Opp for her third season as the Salukis coach.
