Puig to Test U.S. Waters With Sybaris

NEW YORK -- When Antonio Puig Perfumes of Barcelona introduces its new Sybaris men's fragrance here in September, the marketing strategy will underscore the cautious tenor of the times.

It will be launched only in Bloomingdale's 15 doors and at Bergdorf Goodman. Compar, Puig's American distributor, will wait to see how the fragrance fares here before deciding how to roll it out to the rest of country next year.
