WASHINGTON _ Saturday marks the 28th anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. In a post-Sept. 11 world and just months before Cyprus' anticipated accession to the European Union, this is a landmark anniversary.
Today 40 percent of Cyprus remains occupied by Turkish troops, making it one of the few divided capital cities in the world.
