Kettle corn, also known as kettle korn, is popping up all over the place.
You may have seen it brewing in a big kettle outside a favorite supermarket, sampled it at the Bite of Seattle or picked up a bag outside Safeco Field.
This is simple stuff: Corn is popped in vegetable oil, dusted with salt and granulated sugar. Then it's sifted to weed out unpopped kernels and husks. The finished product looks like plain old popcorn minus the extra butter. Sometimes it has a barely visible sheen.
