Williams says it is considering the sale of its 41.7% share in a 1 3-billion lbs/year ethylene plant at Geismar, LA and an associated pipeline system in Louisiana. BASF owns 41.6% of the cracker, and General Electric Petrochemicals (GE) owns the remainder. Williams says "expressions of unsolicited interest" prompted it to consider the sale as part of its ongoing plan to raise cash, the company says. BASF and GE would not comment on their potential interest in Williams' stake.
