So Julius Hunter is finally leaving the airwaves. It was a shock to hear. But it is also a wise move for Hunter. His time was probably up.

His last broadcast is slated for Nov. 27--the end of the Nielsen ratings period.

I first worked with Julius Hunter in 1974. He was a hard worker and a go-getter. He was a superb journalist. He was dedicated to making sure viewers got the best. I specifically remember two stories I worked on with Hunter. He was assigned to cover activities in Rome in 1978 when two popes died (I worked with him on the first). He also ...
